Welcome to ChildKind. I am Sara Langley, a dedicated Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner specializing in children and adolescents with brain based medical conditions.

    Educational Background:

I am a graduate of the Columbia University School of Nursing, class of 2014. I gained my Post Master’s certificate in Psychiatric Mental health Nursing from UCSF and completed a Fellowship with UCI in Primary Care Psychiatry.

    Approach to Care:

As a Mom and Nurse Practitioner, I found navigating the healthcare system with my toddler frustrating and overwhelming.  Researching his condition on my own sent me down never ending rabbit holes, and still my questions were never truly answered by the conflicting evidence I found.

In my practice, I employ a family-centered approach, displaying open communication, transparency and understanding with both children and their families. Children and their families are the experts in themselves, and I am excited to learn about their ideals, goals, experiences and concerns regarding the care they wish to receive.

I specialize in both traditional medicine as well as CAM (complementary and alternative medicine) and work with children and their carers to co-create a treatment plans that are responsive to the changing needs of the children, respectful of family values and compassionate to how incredibly challenging brain based medical conditions can be.

    Commitment to Continuous Learning:

The field of child psychiatry is dynamic, and I am dedicated to staying at the forefront of advancements in treatment options, both conventional and alternative. Regular participation in conferences, workshops, and ongoing education allows me to provide the best possible care to my young patients.
